SERPENTINE DESIGN : DRAWING AND PHOTO

Serpentine race and crowd system for a meat plant with restricted space.

It is critical that an animal leaving the round crowd pen and entering the single file race ( red area on the drawing) be able to see three body lengths up the race before the curve.
Otherwise the race will be "dead-ended" and animals will refuse to enter.

Round crowd pen leading to the curved race. Cattle walk calmly up the races and the handlers only use plastic ribbons to move the animals.
Note there must be a straight section where the crowd pen is attached to the races.(previously highlighted in red.)
